RHINO – LIGHT MIX
ABSTRACT
Light Mix lets you change the color and intensity of your lights after you’ve rendered your scene. Learn how it works in the V-Ray Frame Buffer in V-Ray 5 and later (including V-Ray 7). V-Ray 5 and later introduced new tools and a new look to the V-Ray Frame Buffer (VFB). Enjoy the class.
This is a free Rhino preview from the Learn V-Ray 5SRW course. The subject is Light Mix: changing the colour and intensity of lights after the image has been rendered, inside the V-Ray Frame Buffer.
That matters in Rhino work because interiors are usually a mix of sun, sky, and several artificial lights. If you only adjust those lights in the model, every test is a new render. Light Mix keeps the same beauty pass and lets you dim a ceiling row, warm a lamp, or kill a fill light while you look at the photograph. You learn to decide with your eyes, then you take that decision back into the Rhino scene.
The demo also shows the V-Ray Frame Buffer as Rhino users meet it in V-Ray 5 and later, including V-Ray 7 — not the older VFB, and not a Photoshop substitute. It is the same photographic reading you see on the 3ds Max track, but the host software here is Rhino.
Use this page if you already model in Rhino and you want to know whether the course explains tools in a practical way. It is not the first Rhino lesson (activating V-Ray and the physical camera is a different demo). It is not the full member class. After the video, the Rhino study program is the map of the whole track; downloads stay for subscribers.
