Video language: Español
ABSTRACT
Working with a 3-point lighting will help a lot to understand how you can establish a hierarchy for light balance. This is the simplest scheme you find to manage each light and give more realism to your image, improving the three-dimensionality sensation.
CONCEPTS
- In the basic studio light, we have a hierarchy of 3 lights.
- First Light (also called key light) is the main light: it determines the shadows.
- Secondary Light is just for brightening the shadows.
- Fill light need to light the background if needed.
- Test the intensity of every light one-by-one.
- Use Warm/Cold lighting to create an interesting image.
- Your 3 lights are balanced but you need generally less light?
- Don’t break the balance! Just increase shutter speed.
- Always work with just one light at the time. Once the light balance is fully tested, turn all the lights on to see how they work together.
- Take advantage of Interactive render to get quick feedback of your lights.
- Rename the lights according to its function in the scene and modify them from Asset editor.
